Bug Bite Itch Balm

Bug Bite Itch Balm is a natural product that really works on itchy bites or rashes - it has been our family's go-to balm for itchy bites for a few years now.

Olive oil is infused with plantain, white oak bark, mugwort, and chaparral, then made into a balm with bees wax and lavender essential oil, and vitamin E is addded to help prevent the precious oil deteriorating.

Plantain is known for its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties which may promote wound healing. In a salve, it is soothing on skin irritations and bug bites.

White Oak Bark has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, and is known to soothe the pain and inflammation from bee stings and bug bites. When applied to the skin, it may also help speed up the healing process from minor wounds, cuts, scrapes, and burns.

Mugwort is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it beneficial for soothing irritated and sensitive skin. It can help calm irritation, redness, and itchiness caused by bug bites.

Chaparral is known for its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, making it beneficial for rashes, bug bites, and minor burns. It is a desert shrub native to the American Southwest and northern Mexico, and has been used for generations in traditional herbal medicine. Chaparral is safe to use in balms and ointments, however similar to the herb comfrey, should not be taken internally.

Lavender has pain-relieving properties which can be useful for bug bites

SCENT: This salve is scented with lavender essential oil.
